I haven’t been drinking much these days, so I’ve been experimenting with different sober cocktails, and I thought that Cinco de Mayo would make a great opportunity to create something.
Of course, if you’re doing Cinco, you’re probably going to have a Corona or a Margarita with your tacos, but I’m a big fan of the Paloma. Also tequila-based, it features more grapefruit than lime (like a Margarita) in its flavour profile.
This one gets its extra sparkle by being topped with Sea Cider Eden, one of the offerings from Sea Cider’s Temperance (non-alcoholic) line. I love Sea Cider, it’s one of the places I love to stop at when I’m on my way to or from Victoria. It’s a beautiful farm where you can stop, have a snack, and sip on some locally-grown apple cider.
Here’s how to make a Sober Cinco Paloma. Salud and Happy Cinco de Mayo!
